It's been well reported that mobile usage is rapidly expanding in the U.S. - and Kikucall can confirm that mobile marketing and wireless content has indeed hit its "tipping point." Kikucall + Nike Debut in Times Square

We're proud to announce Kikucall's debut on Broadway - well, above-Broadway, actually. Nike and its agency, R/GA, tapped Kikucall to power a one-of-a-kind promotion on the Reuters Interactive Billboard in Times Square.

Consumers on the ground used their mobile phones to design custom Nike iD sneakers live on the billboard. Following each consumer interaction, Kikucall sent a text message to participants that included a code to actually order the custom sneakers online. The messages also included a link to a Kikucall-developed WAP site where consumers could download a wallpaper of their custom shoe design. The promotion ran throughout the month of May, culminating with a free shoe giveaway to consumers interacting with the billboard on May 27, 2005.

We especially loved working on this campaign - and not just because it brought us together with one of the world's top brands and the world's most exciting intersection. This application really demonstrated the power of mobile to help brands interact with consumers in a way that was never before possible, delighting and engaging thousands of consumers.

HBO to Kikucall: "Let's Hug it Out!"

Entourage is one of the hottest new HBO Original Series. As the much-anticipated second season prepared to launch in June, HBO and its agency, OMD, turned to Kikucall to help fuel a viral, guerilla marketing effort that was consistent with the show's edgy theme.

Kikucall created mobile ringtones using the show's signature catchphrase: "Let's Hug it Out" - an original version plus hip-hop and dance remixes. We added mobile wallpaper images, and hosted a WAP site to support HBO's viral marketing efforts. Don't be surprised if you're on the beach this summer and phones everywhere are ringing a chorus of "Let's Hug it Out!"

The Big News: Print is Going Mobile

Newspapers are getting the message: To communicate with a younger desirable demographic, you've got to find new channels and new approaches to reach that audience. The Denver Newspaper Agency, publishers of the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, is taking the lead with a pioneering approach: They've spun off a new media entity called Bias Media to appeal to young Denverites, and selected Kikucall as its mobile agency of record.

Young professionals around Denver are now receiving Kikucall-powered text messages about sponsored nightlife events and promotions. Kikucall is providing both technical and strategic support for this promising new initiative.

Kikucall specializes in creating wireless products for publishers and media companies like The Denver Newspaper Agency. Kikucall CEO Brian Hecht was a featured speaker on the subject at the Media Center's Mobile Media conference in April. Click here to check out an interview with Brian from the conference.
