Dos Equis Drinkers Chat via Kikucall Application

We ended 2005 with a bang, introducing another major brand promotion powered by Kikucall. When Dos Equis beer was looking to interact with consumers in key markets in a unique, new way, the company's promotions agency, Alcone Promotion, came to Kikucall to conceive and execute the Dos Equis Mysterious Nights Text program.

The program asked consumers at Dos Equis sponsored events to send text messages to a Dos Equis short code to chat with other patrons at the bar. The SMS messages were routed to Dos Equis Brand Ambassadors who were on-site at the events. The consumers' text messages were then displayed on-screen at the events in real-time.

Kikucall sent a response SMS to each participating consumer, thanking them for participating, and driving them to the Dos Equis website to participate in an online sweepstakes.

The Dos Equis events were a big success for the brand, and nearly 400% of Dos Equis Mysterious Nights Text participants visited the Dos Equis website following the events. Now that's what we call viral!


2005 - It Was A Very Good Year

2005 was a banner year for Kikucall, and we're looking forward to an even more exciting 2006! In addition to the incredible Dos Equis campaign described above, here are some of the highlights of 2005:

  • Designing custom Nike iD sneakers on an interactive billboard in Times Square.

  • Creating "Let's Hug It Out" ringtones for HBO's Entourage.

  • Sending mobile coupons from Pontiac and Coors to Bias Media subscribers.

  • Delivering alerts and secret contest URLs to fans of The N's Degrassi.

  • Publishing astrology, tarot, and affirmation mobile content for The Enchanted World.

Going Global, Kikucall "Rings" in the Holiday Season with R/GA

This holiday season, Kikucall learned how to wish clients "Happy Holidays" in French, German, Finnish, and Chinese! Working with leading interactive agency, R/GA, Kikucall enabled an innovative holiday e-greeting that was sent to R/GA clients in the U.S. and around the globe.

The e-greeting, entitled "Make A Beautiful Noise," invited R/GA clients to mix and match holiday sounds to design their own holiday ringtone. R/GA turned to Kikucall to create the holiday ringtones, and to deliver them to clients in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Finland, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Kikucall Introduces First Text Message Tour of Art Exhibit

We like to think that text messaging is an art, but those outside of the wireless world might not agree. Well, Kikucall just got a little bit closer to the arts with its latest campaign for The Provincetown Art Association and Museum. The Massachusetts Museum is offering an exclusive text message tour of their latest exhibit, powered by Kikucall. Patrons can learn more about local artists by texting the artist's initials to the Museum's short code. Patrons then receive an SMS with information on the artist's background and technique.

Say goodbye to the days of giant headphones and dreary audio-tours educating you on the masters - now you can get all your art history right on your cellphone!


Kikucall Joins The Mobile Marketing Association


Kikucall is proud to announce that we are new members of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA). We attended the first MMA Annual General Meeting in November, and Kikucall CEO, Brian Hecht, is a member of the Association's Marketing Best Practices Committee. We look forward to becoming increasingly involved with this incredible organization in 2006!


The Mobile Marketing Association is an action-oriented association designed to clear obstacles to market development, to establish standards and best practices for sustainable growth, and to evangelize the mobile channel for use by brands and third party content providers.
